Perna wasted no time upon the returning of her staff to find an adequate place to practice using it. She wasn't too adept at using a sword, and even less so with her staff. The area she happened upon was quite spacious, several yards of open space all around. She was lucky enough to have found it, since it seemed pretty secluded from busier areas. She had no real target to practice on so she'd swing her weapon around aimlessly, or so it would appear, as she had actually made herself an imaginary person in the form of the boy she had met not too long ago. With no rhythm, she attacked her nonexistent target, tripping over her feet and her improper hold on the staff caused her to stagger often, even losing her grip and letting its weight carry her as it swung to the side.
The kitsune panted softly and took a seat, looking over the staff to try figuring out how to hold it. She held onto it firmly and banged it on the ground, testing the weight with how she held it, how easy she'd be able to move it. She had first held it with her hands together, which didn't yield any positive results. So she worked her hand up its length, testing it again and again until she found a pretty decent balance. She had to hold it almost at the middle, one hand at a third of its length, the other at the other third of its length. She stood back up and swung it at her target, finding it much easier to swing but it still felt awkward. She pouted and tapped the ground with the staff, growing impatient fast. She couldn't figure out how to use it, so she had stuck to just swinging back and forth.
It then occurred to her that it'd most likely be easier to test on a real person, rather than something she can't make contact with. So she soon wiped her forehead and scurried along back to the main streets of the city. Her goal was to find someone willing to at least show her how to use it, as it seemed to her like she found out how to hold it. It also crossed her mind that with no blade on it, what was the point? But Samara was the one to give it to her so surely it had some use. If anything, she might tie a blade to it with some rope. All she'd need to do is learn how to tie. Would that even work? She'd learn soon enough.
