Delrius felt as though he had been traveling the sea of dunes for days now, in reality it had only been two. He had made sure to stock up on water and food before embarking on his quest back home, having pulled his hood up to keep the sun from his face and a mask to keep the sand from beating him up. He walked along one of the large dunes and glanced back down at his compass, making sure he kept himself going in the right direction. He knew there was a pass ahead of him, best thing to do would probably be to traverse it during night to avoid any trouble.
”Not much longer, should be there by mid day tomorrow……….time flies when you travel alone I guess.” The alchemist kept his pace as the sun blazed within the afternoon sky, he would have to start setting up camp soon.
The bovinite made sure to by a little bit of wood to start some fires, but once he got throigh the pass he would continue on until he reached Nirvana. “Just a little bit farther.” Delrius wiped the sweat from his brow, his determination pushing him to get as far as he could befor the sun began to set, making up some good time. He saw what looked like a campsite further ahead of him, he decided it might be best to stay out of sight for the moment, sitting behind one of the dunes to keep himself from their gaze. He made sure that he was far enough down the hill as to keep the light from his fire dim in their eyes, pulling his hood down and his mask off to brush the sand from his hair.
”Damn, now I know how Tit felt about getting sand everywhere.” Delrius chuckled as he reached into his satchel, pulling out some beetle jerky to eat, looking up at the stars and the full moon, helping to keep some visibility over the dunes of this mighty sea of sand. The alchemist grabbed his journal and a quill, beginning to write down his journey so far, notes that would be good for later from what he’s learned.
“Another half day of walking and I’ll be there soon.” He put his journal away as he grabbed his canteen, taking a drink of water and checking how much he had left, “Need to conserve until I get back, but overall doing better than expected.” His skin felt a little dry, some sand had gotten in his teeth, but for the most part he could say that he’s enjoyed this adventure he set himself upon, leaning back on the dune as the cold sand helped to regulate his body temperature after the hot days.
”Better get some rest……..” The bovinite pulled out one of his caster guns, holding it across his body as he closed his eyes, thankfully he was a light sleeper, so if anyone tried to get close he could be ready, can’t be too careful in the sands. The camp near him had him only slightky concerned, but he wasn’t too worried because he made sure to keep out of sight and his presence invisible to them.
”Hopefully…….they are trying to sleep as well.”
